Vocational Rehabilitation
- On-site work rehabilitation is implemented to address issues of psychological barriers such as anxiety issues; work habits, physical tolerances/stamina and
graded return of the individual back into a work setting following a period of short or long term sickness absence.
- Practical advice to the employer on how to successfully return an employee to his/her pre-injury duties/productivity or alternative duties within the work place.
Functional Capacity Evaluations
A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is an objective method of evaluating an individual's functional capacity to perform meaningful job tasks.
Based on the Matheson System, the assessment provides and in-depth analysis of work-related job tasks.
It takes into account psychological and cognitive barriers as well as physical tolerances including mobility, posture, upper limb function,
general fitness & endurance. It identifies the individuals's strength, abilities and needs by undertaking the following testing activities:
- Subjective questionnaires
- Real and/or simulated work activities
- Consistency of effort during testing
- Standardized tests
The Functional Capacity Evaluation is useful in determining:
- What the individual's current physical tolerances is in comparison to the physical demands of their specific job role.
OR
- Where the job is not known, what the individual's current function and work capability is.
The assessment allows the implementation of reasonable adjustments to be made under the Disability Discrimination Act DDA 1995/2005.
